State Testing OPT-Out Process
CMAS & PSAT/SAT Opt-Out Process
2026 - 2027 School Year
Parents/Guardians wishing to opt their child out of online CMAS & PSAT/SAT State Testing must complete an Opt-Out Form (linked below). Building Principals will review the request and contact the family to discuss the family’s preference and the rationale and benefits of CMAS Testing. These assessments are now administered online in compliance with H.B. 25-1278.
If the opt-out choice is still requested, Principals will inform the family that their child will have an altered schedule on testing days and the student will not be in a testing environment; consequently, the student will be in study hall or an alternative supervised location.
Finally, the parent/guardian must sign a document officially opting their child out of testing for the current school year. This document will be provided by the building Principal and returned by Principals to the Assessment Coordinator. This process must be followed each school year, if the parent/guardian wishes their student to not participate in CMAS Testing.
Any questions or issues with the Google Form should be directed to The Pinnacle’s K-12 Assessment Coordinator, Mr. Ben Klein. (ben.klein@pinnaclecharterschool.org or Tel: 303.450.3985 Ext. 2205.
Thank you for your cooperation and adherence to the State mandated testing protocol.
