Pinnacle Visual Arts News and Awards

 

Our arts program has a well-established legacy of success in developing award-winning student artists. Many of our alumni go on to successful careers in arts-related fields, while all of our students benefit socially and emotionally from our innovative arts programming.

Pinnacle Visual Arts Achievements

Industry Certificates

Our program offers courses that prepare students to earn industry-recognized certifications in two of the Adobe Creative Cloud applications used by professional designers. Students who complete our Graphic Design course are prepared to take the Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop certification exams. Pinnacle funds and administers these exams for our students, providing them with an opportunity to earn valuable industry credentials at no cost to them.

Working Student Artists

Many of our visual arts students earn income while still in school by creating fine art and digital assets for clients. Through these real-world experiences, students hone their skills, build professional portfolios, and gain valuable small-business experience. They also have opportunities to apply their talents to design projects for Pinnacle and local family-owned businesses.

National Competitions

In addition to achieving success in local and statewide art and design competitions, Pinnacle students have distinguished themselves in national competitions as well. Our Colorado Scholastic Art Award winners are also considered at the national level, and our students have earned a remarkable number of these prestigious national honors. Additionally, our students have received awards from the U.S. Department of Education, the League of Charter Schools, and the Cleveland Institute of Art.

The Colorado Scholastic Art Awards

What are the Colorado Scholastic Art Awards?

  • Any school, public or private, from across the state can enter as many artworks as they choose
  • An average of 5000 artworks are submitted per year
  • Professional, industry specific judges select the winners
  • Only around 300 artworks are chosen each year to be awarded
  • Students can win an honorable mention, a silver key, or the top state honor, a gold key
  • Each year, Pinnacle recieves enough awards to land among the top five visual arts programs in the entire state
